Sierra 7500 Results

The “Original Sierra 7500” results are incomplete, as they were not recorded into the Norba News for some reason.  These results, compiled from different magazine and newspaper archives, still give an idea of how fast the pro’s were riding in the mid – 80’s.  If you’re looking for results of the Sierra 7500 Redux, click here.

July 20th, 1985:

Men

  • 1st – Roy Rivers (time unknown) *won by a wheel-length in a sprint finish
  • 2nd – Joe Murray (time unknown)

June 22, 1986 (results published in Winning Bicycle Racing Illustrated – Oct. 1986)

Men

  • 1st – Mike Jordan – Ross Bikes (4:35:40)
  • 2nd – Casey Kunselman – Trek/ True Temper (4:36:54)
  • 3rd – Tracy Smith – Cunningham (4:39:43)
  • 4th – John Loomis – Ross (4:43:06)
  • 5th – John Tomac (4:43:09)

Women

  • 1st – Cindy Whitehead – Ross Bikes (6:01:15) *no saddle for 49 miles
  • 2nd – Jacquie Phelan – Cunningham (6:22:37)
  • 3rd – Carmen Carouche – Mantis (7:27:58)
